Be a Vendor

The management team at China Basin would like to invite you to participate in the 1st Annual Barley and Grapes at China Basin event. The Tasting event will take place on Friday, June 26th, 2020 from 3 pm to 7:30 pm on the Wharf at China Basin, 185 Berry Street, San Francisco, CA. 94107.  The event is open to the public and the tenants of China Basin. Tasting tickets for attendees will be $40 in advance before June 1st on Eventbrite and $50 after June 1st and on-site the day of. The event is a benefit for our non-profit partner, the San Francisco Giants Community Fund. There is a Giants/Dodger home game that evening and we are encouraging everyone to go to the game after the tasting event. We are organizing this event to promote local breweries/ wineries and to show off the beautiful Wharf at China Basin. We are expecting at least 1,000 attendees.

We are currently accepting brewery/winery applications. There is no fee for you to participate. Each participating brewery/winery is asked to bring at least the equivalent of 4 cases of beer or wine to sample at the event. We are also asking everyone to send a representative to speak about and represent your brand.  Due to the ABC rules, representatives are not allowed to sell the beer/wine on-site, although they can take orders for delivery. If you are unable to send a brewery/winery representative, we would be happy to accept four cases of beer or wine prior to the event and we will make arrangements to sample the product on behalf. We would also request POS materials.

WHAT DOES YOUR BREWERY/WINERY GET WITH PARTICIPATION?
In addition to exposing your brand to Bay Area tasters, your brewery/winery will also receive a logo and link on the official event websites and it will be featured in the event program! The event will be promoted and marketed through print media, online advertising, posters and postcards distributed off-site, as well as social media and targeted social media ads. The sooner you sign-up, the more promotion and impressions we can offer you. If you are interested in added exposure for your brewery/winery brand we have a separate sponsorship packet available on the websites for you to review. On the day of the event we will provide each brewery/winery with 1-8ft table, a market umbrella, swill buckets, larger buckets to store your product and, per the health department, one handwashing station. Limited parking is available on site.

APPLICATION PROCESS
The team at China Basin and our partners will be managing the application process.  Applications will be accepted until the event is full. Our goal is to have up to 40 breweries and 20 wineries sampling on site. You will be notified that we have received your completed application via email within a few days of us receiving it. Please send the brand logo with your application as a png or jpg file.  Once accepted, we will put your logo and link on our event websites and then on or before May 1st we will send you the detailed general instructions for your participation and site plan overview. We will obtain the ABC permit for the event by May 26th and we will email it to you as soon as we have it in hand.  The ABC doesn’t issue them prior to 30 days out.

INSURANCE REQUIRMENTS
All breweries/wineries participating in the event must have $1,000,000 of liability insurance and email us a copy prior to the event.

HOW DOES THE EVENT WORK?
Attendees will check in at the ticket table at the 3rd street entrance to the China Basin Wharf and be given a program that includes a map of all participating breweries/wineries, a tasting glass and a wristband showing that they have been ID’d. No alcohol can be consumed outside of the Wharf area. There will be a number of security folks on site to help us manage the event.  We will have up to 4-food trucks on site to give people some food options.
